Mak joined Oxford Analytica in April 2024 as Eastern Europe Analyst. He covers the Baltic states, the Visegrad Four, and the Balkans, as well as Turkish domestic politics and foreign policy.
Previously, he worked as a researcher in think tanks and as a deputy editor of an international relations journal, developing an expertise in the area of conflict and peace.
Mak holds an MSc with distinction in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. His master’s thesis on the changing dynamics of the global governance of peace won the LSE’s Martin Wight award.
He speaks several Central-Eastern European languages and has published research articles and commentaries on the region.
