Dr Jason RobinsonSenior Analyst, Africa
Jason joined Oxford Analytica in 2016 after completing his D.Phil in History at St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford. His research looked at the role of small political parties and groupings in South Africa’s transition to democracy in the 1990s, as well as governance and party politics in post-apartheid South Africa. He has published material on South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the role of ethno-nationalist groups since the end of apartheid. Additionally, he has co-edited a number of academic collections.
In addition to his D.Phil, Jason has worked with NGOs and think tanks in both the UK and Ireland, looking at conflict and development in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a Master’s degree in African Studies from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s degree in International Relations from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and History from Trinity College Dublin.
