Dr Tena Prelec

Senior Analyst, Eastern Europe

Dr Tena Prelec joined Oxford Analytica in April 2022. She covers Central and Eastern Europe, including the six Western Balkan countries, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania.

Tena has provided her expertise on the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe to several governments and international bodies, including the European Parliament, the UK Parliament, the Scottish Parliament, the World Economic Forum, and the EESC. Her analysis and commentary have appeared in the Financial Times, the New York Times, Al Jazeera and Foreign Policy among others. She is part of the latest cohort of Marshall Memorial Fellows, the flagship leadership development programme of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.  

Her academic specialism centres on anti-corruption studies. She was previously a Research Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. A political scientist and a linguist by background, she obtained her PhD from the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, Centre for the Study of Corruption, at the University of Sussex.
