Advisory Associate

Oxford Analytica is seeking to appoint an Associate to its Advisory Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the firm’s global client base with rigorous, actionable, market and policy-oriented research on political, regional (e.g. MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia), and geostrategic trends.

The successful candidate will undertake original, forward-looking analysis and contribute to and manage projects that help clients assess the risk implications of global developments on their commercial and institutional interests. The role also involves client interaction, including contributing to proposal writing and related business development activities.

Working with the Advisory team, the Associate will undertake original, forward-looking analysis and contribute to and manage projects that help clients assess and monitor the risk implications of global and regional developments on their commercial and institutional interests. The role also involves client interaction, including contributing to proposal writing and related business development activities.

The successful applicant will have an excellent grasp of international politics, security and foreign policy, and a solid understanding of their implications for business and public sector decision making. Research skills, creative thinking, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work on a wide range of projects are essential. Excellent command of written and spoken English and working proficiency of French are required. Given the variable scope of ongoing engagements, knowledge of Arabic, Turkish, Mandarin would be valued.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Graduate qualifications in political science, economics, international relations or a related field.
• Relevant 2 years’ work experience, particularly completing political research assignments.
• An academic or professional background in international affairs, geopolitics, security and economics.
• Relevant knowledge of project management and business development, including preparing proposals.

The position is based in the United Kingdom. Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Flexible home-working conditions may be discussed.
