The International Compact Conference on Iraq takes place in Stockholm, Sweden. This is the first follow-up meeting after the launch of a five-year peace and development plan in the Egyptian resort of Sharm al-Shaykh in May 2007. The conference is attended by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as well as US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (Iraqi Al-Iraqiyah Television).
