The French President Nicolas Sarkozy is scheduled to visit Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. In Algeria, Sarkozy is due to meet the president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Talks are expected to focus on important common issues, such as fighting terrorism, security and judicial coordination and a friendship treaty. Following Sarkozy's recent election victory, Bouteflika said he hoped to boost the bilateral relations between Algeria and France. Sarkozy paid a visit to Algeria in November 2006 as French interior minister.
