Oxford Analytica examined the impact of the appreciation of the euro during 2001-03 on the economies of the UK, France, Germany and Italy. The analysis assessed the implications of appreciation both at an aggregate and a sectoral level.
The study included 5-year forecasts of the effect of the appreciation under different scenarios and different policy responses. In addition, the study assessed which sectors are most vulnerable to recent and future appreciation.
