As an open network, the internet provides a constantly evolving highway on which an array of digital information can be carried quickly and efficiently between computers; for example, e-mail, documents, images, videos, web sites and other resources are made available through the world wide web. However, as internet use expands, and communities, companies and governments become increasingly dependent on it, there are growing concerns about the stability of the network.
