Lord Patten of Barnes
Christopher Francis Patten was born in 1944. He is a graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, where he read Modern History and was elected a Domus Exhibitioner. In 1965 he won a Coolidge Travelling Scholarship to the USA.
He joined the Conservative Research Department in 1966. He was seconded to the Cabinet Office in 1970 and was personal assistant and political secretary to Lord Carrington and Lord Whitelaw when they were Chairmen of the Conservative Party from 1972-1974. In 1974 he was appointed the youngest ever Director of the Conservative Research Department, a post which he held until 1979.
H.E. Shaukat Aziz
Mr. Shaukat Aziz served as the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan from 28 August 2004 to 15 November 2007 after having been elected as Member of the National Assembly and the Leader of the House. He relinquished the office of the Prime Minister on completion of the five-year tenure of the National Assembly.
Neville Isdell
Neville Isdell is Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Coca‑Cola Company.
Under a leadership succession plan announced in December 2007, Muhtar Kent (then president and COO) succeeded Mr. Isdell as CEO and Mr. Isdell continues to serve as chairman of the Board through April 2009. He is the 12th chairman of the Board in the history of the Company.
Dr. Robert M. Gates
Dr. Robert M. Gates was sworn in on December 18, 2006, as the 22nd Secretary of Defense. Before entering his present post, Secretary Gates was the President of Texas A&M University, the nation's seventh largest university.
Prior to assuming the presidency of Texas A&M on August 1, 2002, he served as Interim Dean of the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M from 1999 to 2001.
Following the U.S. Secretary’s speech at the Conference closing banquet, a number of articles were published in numerous international and regional papers including the Washington Post, International Herald Tribune and the New York Times.
