Richard joined Oxford Analytica in March 2018, and has spent two years working for the firm’s Analysis team, where he was responsible for coverage of the Middle East and North Africa. With the Advisory practice, he has worked closely with the company’s clients in aviation security and the mining sector, while other recent engagements include a project tracking disinformation trends.
Prior to joining the company, Richard spent five years as an analyst for the US government, concentrating on Arab political and security affairs. His previous experience also includes working as a journalist in Cairo. Richard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Edinburgh. He speaks Arabic, French and German.
