Paul Maidment is Editor of Oxford Analytica’s Investor Brief and was the firm’s Director of Analysis and Editor in Chief of the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief from 2014 to 2019. He is concurrently the Principal of Bystander Media, a New York research and media boutique consultancy.

Paul offers the investor audience a rare mix of a deep background in finance and investment journalism gained in the United States, Asia and Europe and proven ability to present timely and compelling forward-looking research and analysis for professional audiences.

Before joining Oxford Analytica, Paul had an award-winning career as an editor and foreign correspondent at Forbes, the Financial Times and The Economist. At Forbes, he co-edited the magazine’s annual investment guide as well as serving as Editor of forbes.com, overseeing an extensive expansion of markets and investment coverage in text, video and data.  

Paul was a pioneer in digital journalism. He was the Founding Editor of the Financial Times’ web site, FT.com and was inducted into the Digital Hall of Fame for that and his work as Editor of forbes.com. He remains in demand as a speaker and broadcaster on the implications of issues at the intersection of the global economy, politics and technology.

Paul is a graduate of St Catherine’s College, Oxford, where he read Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He lives in New York.
