Dr Matt Ward joined Oxford Analytica in July 2017, and covers East Africa and the Great Lakes.
Before joining Oxford Analytica, Matt worked for the United Nations, where he has held positions within the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Executive Office of the Secretary-General. His work for the United Nations has encompassed both field missions in Africa, as well as postings at UN Headquarters.
Matt has also previously worked at NGOs and think tanks in both the United States and Germany. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, Master’s degrees in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh and the University of Sydney, as well as a Bachelor’s of Law from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
