Oxford, Friday April 4, 2008

Oxford Analytica, the international consulting firm, today announced the appointment of Alfred Rolington as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Rolington, 55, has been the CEO of Jane’s Information Group for the past 14 years, and throughout his tenure gained an extraordinary understanding of the global marketplace for information and the role of expert networks in producing high quality intelligence and analysis on world events.
Announcing the appointment of Alfred Rolington, Dr. David R. Young, Founder and Chairman of Oxford Analytica, said:
“We believe the future of professional services firms the world over is going to be shaped more and more by the breadth, depth and quality of their ‘expert networks’ and the experience of their leadership. Oxford Analytica is thus delighted that Alfred Rolington, with his knowledge and grasp of the marketplace, will be joining the Oxford Analytica team and take on the responsibilities of Chief Executive.
Over the last 30 years, Oxford Analytica has built one of the leading global expert networks providing strategic intelligence and analysis on world developments for a sophisticated worldwide clientele of corporations, banks and governments in over 50 countries. The firm has led in the development of the expert network business model—a network that operates online and in person—that is now spreading and is the subject of a growing number of books and articles.”
Alfred Rolington added:
“Our challenge is to directly integrate the intellectual capital of the Oxford Analytica network of scholar-experts further into the decision making of our clients. This will be done through a range of innovative services that draw on and refine our flagship Daily Brief and our Consulting Practice, including “Briefings on Demand” and the new “Global Stress Points Matrix”, which monitors the impact of significant world events on economic activity and prospects on a daily basis.
At Jane’s, we took a very traditional military book publisher and over fourteen years expanded it into a global electronic brand, increasing its reach and value over twenty fold. We went from 90% print and 10% electronic to the reverse- 10% print and 90% electronic.
The strategy and intention of Oxford Analytica is to use its established global brand and the latest technology to enhance and deliver the distilled content of its expert network on geopolitics and global economics directly to its clients.
Oxford Analytica will continue to build client-responsive, tailored information and knowledge systems which create actionable analysis for very particular client needs in the government, financial and corporate sectors.
For those who need unique commercial insight on world events, be it the opportunity presented by Sovereign Wealth Funds; or what is really taking place in Zimbabwe; or whether business assets in Russia are safe from expropriation, Oxford Analytica is recognized as a definitive source of intelligence tailored to addressing its clients’ business needs.
We will support clients with precise analysis of daily events, and create reports, scenarios and insights that can substantially improve their strategic judgments, plans and decisions, all with the aim of adding short and long term economic value.
Our goal at Oxford Analytica is to be an essential global resource and trusted advisor of choice for our clients worldwide.”
