Improvements to the Daily Brief

In line with our programme of continuous improvements, we are pleased to announce improvements to our email alerting and our PDF functionality. These will take effect in the week beginning 28th November, 2011.

Improvements to email alerting

We have renamed and reworked the format of some of our email alerts. This has three benefits for clients:

  • to make it easier to understand the highly customisable and flexible range of alerting options we offer.
  • our analysis is presented in a form most people find easier to read and to scan. It also receives the same look and feel as we use on the website and on our other email alerts.
  • to improve the formatting: the new mail format works better on a wider range of email clients, including almost all current smartphones. Formatting for print will also be improved for most clients.

No changes are being made to the content of the analysis you receive.

These changes only affect you if you currently receive emails with the subject lines "Oxford Analytica Article Alerts" or "Oxford Analytica Saved Search Alerts", or you receive email alerts regarding the Global Stress Points Matrix.™

Alerting Wizard

We have completely revamped the alerting wizard to make clearer what our alerting options are, and simpler to take advantage of them.

Why not revisit your email alert settings, particularly if you feel you get too much or too little from us? We particularly recommend that if you are receiving plain text emails on a smartphone, you try switching to the formatted (HTML) emails.

Daily Brief Article alerts

These emails notify you only of full-length articles we publish. We are changing the subject lines to "Daily Brief Articles".

Your Daily Brief Alerts

These emails deliver alerts our content fully customised to your needs, whether by country or topic, or text - any search you run against our Daily Brief analysis can be saved as a regular email alert. We are renaming the emails delivered by this saved searches feature to "Your Daily Brief Alerts", and reorganising them.

Global Stress Point Matrix alerts

These receive only a gentle reformatting.

PDF features

We have made two changes to our PDF library functionality:

  • Improving the formatting substantially, especially the cover page. View a sample.
  • Expanding the capacity: you can now store up to 50 books, each containing up to 60 pieces of analysis.
