Oxford Analytica Consultants analyse worldwide political, economic, and public policy developments, and apply such analysis to addressing the requirements and problems of business and government.
The Consultancy Practice is currently seeking to recruit an Analyst for its Oxford office.
An analyst's primary responsibilities include:
- Conduct Primary and Secondary Research: applying analytical and problem solving skills to understand the challenges facing our clients, developing and applying appropriate research methodologies, synthesising information, editing written contributions and delivering focused analysis that addresses the questions our clients pose. This is often in order to assist a (team of) consultant(s), and as part of a large-scale project.
- Project Management (Assistance): assisting consultants in planning, staffing, budgeting and directing projects and proposals, for parts and/or for the full length of the project/proposal.
- Network Management: interacting with members of our network of independent analysts worldwide, directing their contributions and coordinating this with research conducted in-house.
- Internal Projects: assisting the team with the overall running of the department by maintaining internal databases, contacts and files.
Applicant Profile
A successful applicant will possess:
- Bachelor or higher qualification in economics or related subject from a recognised institution.
- Strong quantitative skills
- A demonstrated interest in international economic and/or political issues.
- A valid UK work permit.
- Experience with econometric analysis, in particular advanced knowledge of the statistical programme STATA, i.e. ability to deal with larger, complex programming tasks (including, for instance, extensive use of macros and loops).
- Ability to explain abstract statistical concepts in an intuitive way.
