Current position since May 2005; previously Latin America Editor, Oxford Analytica. Formerly a research analyst at a London-based country intelligence consultancy; also taught at the University of Liverpool. Has published reports and features in Jane's Sentinel and Jane's Defence Weekly, and given regular media interviews. Holds a PhD and BA (First Class), University of Liverpool.

Research interests include the influence of international finance on macroeconomic policy, private investment behaviour, investment flows to emerging markets, and economic development in Latin America. Adviser to UK government, OECD and various UN agencies.

Sir Colin McColl

Formerly worked in the Foreign Service. Director of Scottish American Investment Trust, Advisory Director of Mantech International, Pegasus Security Group and Campbell Lutyens Ltd.

Dr Terry O’Shaughnessy

Tutorial Fellow in Economics, St Anne's College, University of Oxford
Research interests include macroeconomic theory and policy, trade policy, and the economics of education. Previously fellow of King’s College, Cambridge. Member of the Editorial Board of the Cambridge Journal of Economics.

Dr Rory Macleod


Former head of the Global Fixed Income and Currency team at Baring Asset Management in London, also holds a D.Phil in Politics from University of Oxford. From 1985 to 1989, worked in Saudi Arabia as an advisor to the Saudi government, and from 1989 to date has travelled regularly on business to Saudi Arabia.
